Evidence suggests that our cats’ ancestors were domesticated from the African Wildcat, around 9,000–10,000 years ago, which coincided with the development of agriculture and farming. The grains produced for use throughout the forthcoming year were stored in granaries that were a haven for rodents. Wild cats naturally preyed upon these rodents and over time they were embraced into homes and their road to domestication started, leading them to eventually become the symbol of affection, grace and poise we know today.
Modern cats however are not that far removed from their ancestors as they still require a high meat diet and are referred to as obligate carnivores. The term obligate carnivore means “by necessity”. It is very simple to understand, cats must eat meat to survive it is a biological necessity! They also have specific requirements for certain amino acids such as Taurine, Arginine and Tryptophan, high levels of these are naturally found in meat. This is the prime reason for formulating AATU for Cats, a bespoke and unique 85/15 diet containing 85% meat for your obligate carnivore.
AATU for Cats is so highly concentrated we use over 3kg of ingredients to make 1kg of finished product. To make a 3kg bag we have to use 10kg of raw ingredients! AATU for Cats is free of grain, white potato and gluten (a composite known to cause allergic reactions) and is a very low glycemic diet. AATU is handcrafted in small batch recipes, naturally made without artificial colours, without artificial preservatives, without artificial flavours and without GM ingredients.
